SHAREPOINT ONLINE FOR SITE MEMBERS

SharePoint Online for Site Owners SharePoint Online for Power Users SharePoint Online: Overview
WHAT IS MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT?

SharePoint is an enterprise information portal. Organizations use SharePoint to create websites. You can use it as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from any device.

All you need is a web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox. SharePoint uses Web conventions ‐ access through a browser, linked information, images as well as text ‐ to create a fast and easy method of collaborating.

A SharePoint site is a container for many SharePoint components. SharePoint sites are used to enable team, project, and department collaboration. Components include:

  • Pages
  • Lists: Announcements, Calendar, Contacts, Links, Discussions, Surveys (more)
  • Libraries: Documents, Images, Forms, Wikis, Blogs
  • Web Parts: Over 100, including Search, Filter, Community, Video/Audio
  • Documents
  • Permissions
  • Subsites
